Owen Vaughan Jones, obstetrician and gynaecologist, was born on 27 December 1907 at Llanwnda, Caernarfonshire and educated at Caernarfon County School and Liverpool University where he studied medicine. He moved to work at the C & A Infirmary in 1937 and was the first consultant obstetrician to be appointed by Caernarfonshire County Council.
